Sometimes, All Rocks Taste Like Salt

Have you ever licked rocks to determine whether or not they taste like salt?

Well, I have. I mean, not really, but I was told that was a legit strategy.

In college geology, we were taught that one way to identify salt was to taste it. Salt tastes like salt. Seems reasonable.

Except here's the problem: when you've been outside handling rocks for three hours, everything tastes like salt.

I'm no geologist, but I feel like there's a better way.

Which brings me, somehow, to bookkeeping.

There are no stupid questions.

Seriously. If you've ever looked at your QuickBooks and thought, I feel like I should understand this, but I absolutely do not, ask.
